On 21st June, the NHL disclosed the schedules of 1, 271 games for 2018-19 regular seasons after releasing the details about the home openers of the 31 teams. The entire season will be full of close fights and many people are looking forwards to thrilling matches. If you love ice hockey and/or willing to bet on hockey, don’t give a miss to these rousing games. Take a quick look at a few must-watch games in 2018-19.

Boston Bruins at Chicago Blackhawks

The two Original Six clubs will play for the first time in an outdoor match. The Bruins suffered defeat at the hands of the Montreal Canadiens in 2016. The Blackhawks are 1-4-0 in outdoor matches and 0-3-0 in the Winter Classic. Expectations are building up and the game is supposed to be played amidst an electric ambience in South Bend. A crowd of nearly 80, 000 people will watch the match to be hosted on 1st January.

New York Islanders at Washington Capitals

Trotz resigned from his job at the Capitals on 18th June after guiding the team to the Stanley Cup. Only three days later, the Islanders hired him as their coach. However, the person has to wait a little longer before returning to his coaching career in Washington. The Metropolitan Division rivals are taking on each other for the first time today at Barclays Centre.

The clash of the titan is going to happen once again in the season when the Islanders will play their 47th match of the current campaign at Capital One Arena in the US capital. Trotz is most likely to receive a warm welcome after guiding the Capitals to the Championship for the first time. The match will be played on 18th January.

Pittsburgh Penguins at Philadelphia Flyers

The intrastate rivals and longtime division know each other very well. On 23rd February, it will be their second meeting in three seasons in a Stadium Series game. The Penguins handed a 4-2 defeat to the Flyers at Heinz Field, which is the home ground of the Pittsburgh Steelers, in the last year. This time, the Flyers will welcome the guest to the home of the Philadelphia Eagles, who are the Super Bowl Champions. The match will be held on 23rd February.

Connor McDavid vs. Auston Matthews

Matthews, the top pick in the 2016 NHL Draft and McDavid, the top pick in the 2015 Draft will clash with each other on 27th February. It is going to be the first of their two meetings in the next season. Matthews lifted the Calder Trophy as the top NHL rookie in 2017. He has already registered two goals and scored three points. McDavid received the Ted Lindsay Award after being voted as the most brilliant player by the NHLPA. He has amassed eight points after notching up equal number of goals and assists in his five NHL appearances against Toronto.
